About Today I Grew
This project was started to see what would happen if people wrote down one thing they learned each day and shared it. Starting in May 2012, seventy-five people received manilla envelopes with 5 postcards inside. Each was asked to share one thing they learned each day, so that it may be posted to this blog.
Sharing is the final step in learning - the pause of reflecting upon what we’ve absorbed and then creating something to explain it to others. The hope in this project is that everyone who contributes grows simply by writing down what they’ve learned.
Opening this project up to everyone who wishes to contribute is a major goal. At this time, there’s no PO Box for accepting cards from readers here - that will be changing soon, hopefully. However, you can submit via the web by using this submission form.
If you have any questions related to this project, especially if you’d like to receive postcards to contribute, please ask here and include your email address.
About Ken
Hi, I’m Ken Moorhead. I’m 25 and living in Chicago. This project was borne out of my own practice of writing things down daily. I’ve found it really helps me process what I learn, especially given how much information we’re bombarded with every day.
Given how much such a simple thing helps me, I began to wonder if it would be helpful to other people too - and then wondered what our world would be like if we started sharing that with one another. I’m excited to see where this goes, and hope you are too.
